crna school
Foreign language at a community college? I wouldnt waste my time. First of all i would recommend choosing two schools that you really want to attend and consider calling the director and asking what he/she advises to improve your chances. If you take biochem and chem classes that arent necessary BEFORE your accepted, puts you at risk to lowering GPA even further. Personally, i think your credentials are acceptable. Keep trying and good luck!

Swan Lines
The interview process is geared to your experience..If you "present" yourself as a CVICU nurse with all kinds of cardiac/ swan experience, they will expect you to know exactly what you tell them that you do. If they ask you a question that your not familiar with, they will appreciate your honesty that your not familiar rather than blow smoke. They basically look at your work experience that you provided on your application - questions are based on that. Good luck!

Starting TWU Fall 2006?
Hello-- I'll be attending TWU in the fall 2006.. Just curious to know if there are many/any papers to write? I know the science stuff will be a bear but lengthy research projects i tend to worry about. Silly i know. Thanks in advance for your help. B.

Starting TWU Fall 2006?
Hey.. Yes, i'll be one of those 120 students attending. A little anxious to find out where my clinical site is so i can find a place to live. I dont know Reinke but i've heard the stories. I'm excited about school itself, but the issue i'm dealing with is leaving my family....I was fortunate to be informed early to start working thru the transition before April. Anyway, i'll be glad to get the "show on the road". Keep in touch.

Tuition reimbursement with first CRNA job.
The bottom line.... Get through school and THEN look at student loans being paid. If you decide to have the same standard of living that you did as an RN for the first year and half, I believe the loans would be history.

Tuition reimbursement with first CRNA job.
Interesting to read this concern..I will be attending a CRNA program starting in August. Director of education at the hospital that i'm currently employed actually approached me regarding possible tuition assitance. I actually never even considered this a concern when i was considering. Our hospital was awarded a federal grant to be used for education purposes for health care/allied health and it's not from the hospital themselves. Would you mind providing more information on this so i can make an informed decision when it comes time to consider a contract? Thank you! B.

Will a B in Chemistry hurt my chances?
sorry i have a correction to make... Rather than your nursing GPA being considered it's your science GPA. usually 3.0 or better. You got it!

Will a B in Chemistry hurt my chances?
Given that you have consistently done well throughout your undergraduate studies, certainly a B will not hinder your chances to be a CRNA. They look at your last 60 hours, overall GPA, and nursing GPA. All numbers are taken into consideration. My advice though is to take your GRE NOW while your still in school and the math and vocabulary is still fresh in your mind. I was just accepted into a CRNA program. Yes, i'm VERY excited. Good luck with your nursing studies. Be patient though. Dont look too far down the road and lose sight on what's important. Graduate FIRST! Then move in the direction of critical care. I have never advised ANY new graduate to work in an intensive care unit fresh out of school. Your a danger to the patients and a burden to the staff. ( I worked in a progressive care unit for 4 years before moving to critical care) Definately not advising my track, but learn how to TALK with patients and see normal before jumping into machines, monitors and choaos. Good luck! B.
