  1. hi! i usually watchthe show too, but havent seen the episode you've referred to (since i'm not in the US, i've only seen 1st season episodes). i love the show so far cause i like assessing patients. i love how they describe the cases-how such an everyday symptom is part of an unlikely disease. and yeah, doctors giving the meds, operating the cat scan and mri- not really real life isn't it? :chuckle oh well, its tv. its a doctor centered show, so i guess portraying nurses in the grubwork light is kind of a given.. gen
  2. hi there :) im new to the site and i think i might have some tips for you. btw, i am just about to take the nclex too (next year hopefully). a friend and i grilled ourselves with assistive devices by actually not using one or both our legs and really do use the devices. experience helps a lot with retention. just use the devices and without reading the book, let ur instincts guide you. find the easiest way to use the devices.you'll be surprised that what you've just done is the actual stuff in the book :) also, i have my own code for cane walking- CAU (like in cancer danger signs, the first three letters of it) Cane, then Affected leg, and then the Unaffected leg.of course, while holding the cane at the unaffected side (if you were to hold the cane in the affected side,or the WEAK side, how are you supposed to bear your body weight, right?) its quite unconventional and a bit dangerous too but it really did help me, since i do have a difficult time memorizing gaits and stuff. hope this helps :)
