I applied to RVC instead. St. Anthony only excepts A&P when it is taken within 4 years; RVC within 8. I would need 7 more classes to get into St Anthony's, including A&P again. One thing I didn't like about St.A is that you now must have ALL of your 2 years finished before you start the program. Meaning, you can't go to RVC and finish an art class over the summer while in nursing school. One of my buddies has 1 more semester to go at St A, he likes the education he's receiving; he told me he has nothing to compare it to tho- He was accepted at RVC and St A with a 3.6 GPA. I'm an Alternate at RVC. I have until the 21 of Aug to receive a phone call. Good luck

Hello I'm gonna apply for RVC's and saint Anthony's RN program. About what was your GPA and how many males are in your class? I heard it's easier to get into St Anthony's (probably cause it's ~10x the cost).

How is testing done? One of the online courses mentioned that tests are proctored (supervised)...? How is this done? This sounds silly, but; are webcams required? Does nothing prevent me from accessing my notes during an exam? Tankyou4your help N8

Yes, Elgin is about 40-45 miles from Rockford. If I can get into Elgin 1 semester earlier than my local college (RockValley) then perhaps i'll transfer there. Unfortunatly, if i'm out of district i'll be at the bottom of the pick list.

Hello I live in Rockford and I won't be able to attend my local college's fall nursing program, because my CNA cert won't be completed in time. I do have all the requirements to attend Elgin community college. I'll apply to both and see what happens. I checked out Elgin's RN program on line and it's kinda vague about their clinicals. How many are there? Does anyone or has anyone here attended Elgin's program? What are your thoughts? Tia

Here was a cool study trick that I came up with... Set your alarmclock to go off. Once it alarms hit snooze, then study a section of Chunking the material down into small sections @10min intervals helps. Enjoy and pardon me for my run on sentences

Hello I'm in the process of applying for a RN program at my local community college (Rockford IL). I only need 1 class, my cna certification. Unfortunatly, this is a four hour class, 5 days a week x6 weeks. Since I work full time (until April) I can only attend night classes. The 2 cna classes offered at night (spring sem) have been filled. Does anyone have a CNA directory/reference website for me? I'd like to find other places that teach a CNA class. I've viewed other college's websites, however; they are quite far from my location. My other option is to call all the local nursing homes and inquire. If I can avoid all the phone calls... great.
