  1. I just graduated from nursing school and I have a BAHA. Have you used a stethoscope before? When using my stethoscope I would just turn the BAHA off, then turn it back on when I was done. I would definitely suggest getting a good, quality stethoscope. During school I used a Littmann Cardiology III that I loved and it worked well for me. I would sometimes have to really focus on whatever I was trying to hear and/or spend more time listening, but I think part of that is also just being a student and not being used to these sounds. You can also talk to the Disability Resource Center at your school if there are any accommodations they can assist with. I didn't register with the DRC but I did let my clinical and lab instructors know what my BAHA was just because most people are unfamiliar with it. I wish you the best! Believe in yourself! You can do it!
  2. @MermaidEMT I sent you a PM
  3. I'm not finding it. Could you post the link to it here?
  4. My last name begins with Ha
  5. Just got an email that I got in!!!!
  6. @MermaidEMT When I turned in my application she said it would be 7 to 10 business days for decisions to be sent. But I'm not sure if extending the application deadline will change that or not.
  7. Flights were all booked. I know many couldn't get flights at all
  8. Wow I'm astonished at some of the comments on here. Also do you all realize that there is literally no gas right now? And that drive to Atlanta that may normally take 9ish hours (depending on where they live) would take probably 3 times that? Even if she had attempted to leave earlier she would've had to have called out at least 2 days just to take her kid to Atlanta. And probably would've gotten in trouble for that too. And yes we've known about the storm but if you haven't noticed there were about 361842 different possible paths, and it's continually changing. People who evacuated from the east coast to the west coast of the state were under the impression it'd be safer there, but now Irma is going to hit the west side even harder. Maybe you don't think she made the best decisions, but who knows what her circumstances are that prevented her from doing all the things some have so unkindly suggested. Good luck to all my fellow Floridians!
  9. Hey I know they gave some examples and tips at the workshop, but how are yall preparing for your interview?
  10. For those of you still waiting to hear..I left another message for Kenneth Wynn and he called me back, so maybe try calling him today even if you have to leave a voicemail. When I said I hadn't received an email he thought it was odd and told me my status over the phone. Unfortunately I didn't get in but it is what it is. Good luck to the rest of you!
  11. (352)273-6400 puts you to an automated thing. (352)273-6457 puts you to a secretary
  12. I tried contacting him multiple times both by phone and email and never heard anything. I don't expect we'll hear tonight seeing as they're most likely already gone. I understand that they are very busy and have many people contacting them, but this is exasperating.
  13. I haven't heard anything but around 0830 I left him a voicemail, a note with the secretary, and an email haha! It may be overkill but I'm covering all my bases here. So hopefully we hear something soon.
  14. I plan to email and call until I get an answer haha! And it just seems like they don't send them all at once because based on what I've read and heard about last year, they did what they have this year (as in some find out earlier than others).
  15. I haven't gotten an email. Apparently they don't send them all at once...which I don't really get haha
  16. Glad I'm not the only one who didn't hear. But they're killing me...haha!
  17. Lol every day I wake up and think "today HAS to be the day we hear"
  18. Well I guess I can't say that for sure but I heard it through the grapevine...but that doesn't necessarily mean it's true
  19. I'm trying very hard to be patient and I know they had a record number of applicants but come on this is getting to be a but much...
  20. Has anyone called/emailed to see when decisions will be sent? This week they will have had the same amount of time between due date and decisions being sent as they used last year (I hope that statement made sense). Just getting anxious...waiting is always the worst
  21. I came out here to escape the C Diff smell...now I just smell C Diff with a hint of flowers
