Napa Valley College Spring 2020
I turned mine in at 0903! I’ll let you know. Were you invited to the uniform fitting on 12/9? If so, Margarita and Cindy said said your have a good shot at getting in the program. I also talked to Janice at orientation and she told me that they are adding people until 1 week AFTER it starts this year. It’s their first year doing it.

Napa Valley College Spring 2020
It depends on how many people drop. 1 person did, I believe and I’m next up.

Napa Valley College Spring 2020
When did you get your email? That will let you know what wave alternate you’re in. Also, were you invited to attend the orientation? The orientation space holds the 40 + the first 10 alternates.

Napa Valley College Spring 2020
Hi! There are 2 groups of 10 alternates each. They’re separated by time. Their website says T/W are clinical days and M/TH are lecture days. They give a sample schedule online. I’m 45 minutes-1 hour away and I’ll be commuting because there’s not much traffic after Hwy 4.

Confirmation from Napa? No, but I sent mine return receipt and priority with tracking, so it was confirmed that they received it via those 2 things.

I’m taking pharmacology now at Solano Community College and drug dosage calculations in the fall at Contra Costa College. What about you? Best of luck to us! I hope to see you there!

Napa Valley College Spring 2020
Hi! I applied 6/10 at 0903 since Margarita Ceja told me that they really go by time applied. I tried to get as close to 0900 as possible.

Napa Valley College Spring 2020
Hi Everyone, Has anyone applied to the Napa Valley College ADN program for Spring 2020? Does anyone know when we are supposed to hear back regarding acceptance? My anxiousness is at an all time high, especially since if I don't get in here, I'll likely have to go to a private college and I really would rather go to a CC.

Roseman University 18-month Program?
Try Craigslist and local papers/classifieds for a roommate. Maybe an inexpensive place if you can find one that would cost the same as your half of the bills/rent.

Is nursing really for me? Really Discouraged about grades
I think it depends upon the school itself. I know of a few CCs in Northern CA that will accept people with a 2.0 science GPA. One of them being Napa Valley College and another one being Solano Community College. There are private colleges such as Roseman University that may take you despite GPA and they are accredited (18 months to a BSN) expensive, yes, but what else are you factoring in? Do you have a family? Are you able to take out a loan or get a co-signer to help? If so, I would just go for it, because you'll more than make the money back and you can also push yourself and work harder in nursing school. Pre-reqs are only half the story, don't let yours end here. (I'm in a similar position myself) feel free to reach out if you need to! Best of luck!

Roseman University
Hi, Thank you so much! I have loads of questions. Do they require you to purchase the computer from Roseman or can you purchase it cheaper via Dell or Amazon and just buy the software? How were the labs and clinicals? Do you feel that they prepared you for being an actual RN? How attainable is that 90% that they want you to achieve? How do remediation and super remediation work? Did you find that lots of people in your cohort needed remediation or super remediation? Did anyone not make it? How does that process work if you don't pass the super remediation? How are the instructors? Are they accessible for questions and to help with any concerns? Do they give you the tools needed to succeed? i'm not talking about the answers, but are they helpful in getting us to understand the material thoroughly since lives are at stake? If i do go to Roseman, I would have to relocate and take out a pretty sizable loan and do nothing but be a student. How close to graduation was the NCLEX scheduled or was it up to students to schedule it themselves? I'm not sure whether you would have any idea of this or not, but is it better to sit the NCLEX in another state or to take it in Nevada and request reciprocity? Are there some good jobs out there for Roseman grads? I read on the Roseman blog that they're pretty highly respected in NV, but from a graduates perspective (and not just a marketing angle) are they? Are they really hiring Roseman grads at fair salaries? Are you also able to send me a list of the required books so that i can start to purchase them if I do intend on going? I know, I'm full of questions. Thanks so much for helping me out! If this is too much, you can always email me @ [email protected]

Over complicating this or no?
Thank you so much! This definitely helps to cut down on my stress level as I would have added an extra semester by taking pharm/patho.

Roseman University
Can anyone let me know what they think of Roseman University's 18 month BSN program? I am thinking of applying there next year but would like to know how it is/what to expect? I'm a CNA now, working in a hospital, will that help me at all or is it basically starting from scratch? I've tried reaching out to others on old posts but haven't gotten any responses back, so that's why I started this one, in hopes that someone would be able to answer my questions. I'm not picky as to either the Henderson or South Jordan campus as I will be applying to both. GPA is not extremely high but not under a 2.0 either. Do i have a decent chance of getting into either campus or should I resign myself to trying to find a CC? Thanks in advance!

Is it possible to finish prerequiste in 2 years ?
It can be if you do the "easy" classes together and take classes in the summer. By "easy" I mean whatever you don't struggle with, so maybe math/english/communications/psychology is one semester anatomy/chem is another micro/socio/pol-sci is another and history/physio is the last depending on what your requirements are. Good luck!

NRSNG
Has anyone used the NRSNG academy and found it helpful? I am thinking of working a few doubles to save up for it if so. It was created by Jon Haws RN, BSN, CCRN and looking at testimonials and others posts about it on amazon/facebook, it looks promising. I'm by no means trying to make nursing school "easy" just trying to prepare myself for what I know will be an intense 18 months (or 2 years)

Pre-Requisites
Southern California University of Health Sciences? They are 1 month long, weekends and accredited. I'm not sure which school you're planning on attending for nursing, so I would just double check with the school that you're attending whether or not the credits will be accepted since the science classes are accelerated. You shouldn't have a problem though unless the school specifically states "no accelerated pre-requisite courses" or "does not not accept per ____ (school's name) guidelines. Good luck!

Over complicating this or no?
I'm a pre-nursing student, finishing up the science prerequisites for (preferably) Roseman University's 18 month BSN program. I was wondering if I should bother taking pharmacology and pathophysiology as both are offered at (somewhat) local community colleges or if this is just over complicating the matter and I should just do the sciences and apply?
