what a pregnancy this is for me. this is my 4th baby and unfortunately im not enjoying it as much as when i was having my 3 boys. i vomited till i was nearly 14 weeks, which has now cleared up. i am now nearly 21 weeks pregnant and had some slight brown discharge. The baby is moving alot so know baby ok. My midwife has said if it gets worse get emergency appointment at docs. i hace been resting as much as i can but still worried. Has anyone any idea why its happening? In 2 of my previous pregnancies i had same problem till i was 14 weeks pregnant...no cause found.
i had 7 weeks off work at begining of this pregnancy due to vomiting so much, just had another week off due to this brown discharge. I was wondering why this is happening.

I had a similar discharge with both my pregnancies, except that it started out bright red and later became kind of a rusty color. The OB/GYN told me that it was due to polyps, and not to worry. Both pregnancies were term, healthy babies. :) The polyps, by the way, were only present when I was pregnant. I never did get a good explanation as to exactly why I had them.

Vomiting is caused by the HCG hormone which is increased during the 1st trimester of pregnancy. This is usually self limiting since the hormone decreases as the pregnancy progresses. As for your brownish discharge, i suggest that you have an ultrasound done - pelvic or translady partsl, for placental localization. This is to check if you have placenta previa - total or partial. Don't worry, this is sometimes a very common finding during the early part of the pregnancy, the placenta usually migrates to the fundal area of the uterus. Just don't do strenuous activities.
I hope you'll find this useful.....
Thanks for thew advice...........had no more brown discharge and no cause for the problem wes found. All is well :)

You received some good advice. I just wish to add my support for you and tell you to hang in there. I hope the pregnancy becomes a bit less problematic as time goes by. I am sorry you are going through all this; pregnancy is NOT always such a piece of cake, huh? Congrats on your expecting and best wishes for the duration of the pregnancy and for a healthy delivery/ baby in the near future! (((hugs)))
