I attend Cumberland County College. I am a sophmore and just applied to the nursing program this year with every prereq but 1 completed. I just took the NLN's last week and because of the
A) waiting list
B) the amount of applicants (probally 500)
C) the maximum # of people accepted (60)
I do not think I will be in the next class of nursing students. That worries me so much (like my results for the NLNs)
Is anyone aware of a college in Southern New Jersey that has no waiting period or a maximum acceptance? Would help so much. Cant get those nonsense NLN's off of my mind. Can someone else please tell me that they were not readily prepared for that test as well? I read the books, took the practice tests, and still managed to be totally confused!!!! Where did all those physics questions come from and why is that not required but still all over the test!!!!! :angryfire

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I was completely unprepared for the NLN last yr too. I'm a little farther up north in NJ than you guys, but I think all the community colleges are pretty similar in their ciriculum and requirements. I had a good GPA, but didn't study for the NLN (and didn't take physics in high school either) and ended up getting a 110 (pretty average). I think you'll do great b/c the english section is pretty easy, and a lot of the science section are "test" questions (i.e. the NLN is trying out diff types of questioning which doesn't affect your grade-there are some on the NCLEX as well). I thought I had bombed that science portion but ended up doing the 2nd best in it. Good luck.
(ps. sorry about spelling, it's late!)

Was that your composite score? Did you make it in the program? My school goes under the score AD the bottom number which ends up to be a 66. But my composite was 113.
I forget my composite score, but I made it thank god! That was this time last yr. and now I'm in my 3/4 semester. Most of the other people who got in had great GPAs and scores from 90 to 130. I think most CC look for high grades in A&P I and II, and micro. if you've taken it yet. Also try to do well in all the psychs., sociologys, english, etc. b/c that just shows your well-rounded (i"m guessing). :) Good luck
Oh wait my total score was 110 but I don't know my individual scores (it was all the way last year!) That was average for my group. As I said b/f, the range of those accepted was 90-130. Talk to you soon.

I'm starting at Bloomfield College in the Fall. I won't start the nursing program until Fall 2006...that is if I pass the NLN. My counselor told me that it covers all courses. I am going to purchase a book to study from.

Hi,
I just found this thread and wondered if you got accepted at CCC. I did. My score in the AD column was 89.
