I would like to know if it is a must to put previous unrelated degree in making resume?
I have business degree then PN then BSN.
If I don't put it on my resume, is this an act of omission and will affect any background check?
also my work experience is only on my business degree. After my BSN, I still continue working on my business position until today. This makes me unexperience in Nursing positions, but I really wanted to pursue my love in Nursing.
Also, are we only going to put the 10 year period of work experience? Like from 2004 to 2014?
I would appreciate your ideas here.Thanks.

If I were the person receiving the resume and you omitted something that big ... and I found out about it ... I would wonder what else you had neglected to tell me about. I recommend including it, just not spending a lot of space on the page about it.
I recommend the same treatment of career activities more than 10 years old. They can be mentioned in 2 or 3 lines on the page, showing that you have nothing to hide and giving the hiring manager a chance to ask about them if she is interested -- but not emphasizing them or distracting the reader from the more current/more relevant material.
Thanks for your response.

Definitely include it. It looks really good. Plus, it might be a great way to get you into a management position (charge nurse/ nurse manager/ nurse admin) one day.... I have a friend that graduated nursing school and he was unable to get a bedside nursing job as a new grad, but he got a nurse admin job with his previous MBA experience.
