Pressure to Perform?

Hello to all my fellow Excelsior College classmates!!!

After several months of slow progression, I am FINALLY ready to start calling for cancellation dates. But as happy as I am to be at the finish line, it's kind of bitter sweet. It was a struggle to keep pushing through this program. I can't remember how many times I was on the verge of just throwing in the towel. It wasn't because I was having a hard time passing the exams, I was having a hard time staying motivated to study for the exams. Where the "bitter sweet" feeling comes in is pressure from my husband. At first he was very supportive of the time I had to wait for a test date, he didn't make me feel rushed to finish. Now it's like every other day I have to hear "I can't wait until you take your clinical exam".

I totally understand what it feels like to have to "hurry up and get a date already". Whether it's a job waiting for you, or a spouse who needs you to finish. What I don't like about having that kind of pressure on you is that now you can't go into this exam with a "CAN DO" attitude. Now you have to go into the exam with a "HAVE TO" attitude. As if there isn't already enough pressure on you to not miss ONE critical element, now you have other "distractions" to contend with.

What do you all think about this?

Should I look at this pressure to perform as a positive or a negative?

He probably just wants his wife back! Let him know how this is making you feel. That's probably the best thing to do. Good luck to you, I hope you get the perfect date!

Congratulations on your success so far. Studying for Cpne does take away from your life and family life. You have come so far and you cannot let any thing or anyone distract you. I was once you in Dec 2016. I gave myself a motivation speech " My family will have me back once I pass and I need to focus on me at this time and I'm doing this for us and if I fail we all fail " You got this. I passed Dec 2016 but have to pass boards. Good luck
