Prerequisites for Pediatric Primary NP Programs

I'm currently finishing up my junior year of my BSN program and am very interested in becoming a pediatric primary care NP. I was wondering if anyone knows what the prerequisites for those MSN programs are - do they allow you to apply directly from BSN or do they require experience. If they do require experience, how many years? And is there a particular setting the experience must be gained in?

The answers to your questions can vary by program, so your best option is to research programs that interest you. Some programs require a year or two of RN experience first, while others allow you to go straight from undergrad to graduate course work. Besides have a BSN (which should include a stats class), there really are no pre-reqs

I know that it varies by program - I actually started doing some research. But there are tons of programs and I was just hoping to get a general consensus of what the programs require/prefer in their applicants.

Beyond having a BSN and RN most grad school apps I have seen want to ensure there was an undergrad assessment class and an undergrad stats class on your transcript.

If you are just doing PNP, you could work in any setting to get experience. Whereas if your interest lies in acute care PNP you should really be in an in patient setting, preferably a PICU or other high acuity unit.

Some schools require GRE, but not all. My FNP program did not.
