Preparing for the NAT

Hey guys, is everyone excited about holiday break?

Im preparing to take the NAT (at FSCJ). I just got my study book in the mail yesterday. It's Arco Master the Nursing School and Allied Health Entrance Exams (2008 edition) and quite frankly, it confuses the hell outta me!:sstrs: Im not totally sure what to study! Will I be okay even if I haven't had AP2 or Micro?

I know that the only sections that are counted are the Reading Comprehension, Academic Aptitude, and Natural Sciences

What exactly in this book is natural sciences? There is Gen Bio, Chem, Earth Science, Physics and A&P.

And also, is basic arithmetic all I'll need to brush up on as far as math? I have heard that the study books are a lot harder than the actual test. I'm just not sure what to expect and I think this book has me overwhelmed and confused!:)

Thanks and have a Merry Christmas!

Im taking the NAT soon too. Probably gonna take it early January.

I finished all my prereqs so this is the last thing I need before I apply for Summer.

If you go to the public library, you could pick up a bunch of nursing exam practice books. I borrowed the 17th edition of the Arco book along with 2 other nursing entrance exam practice books.

The only disadvantage is that you cant write on it...I think....

Did you ever go to your FCCJ testing center and pick up one of those NAT sample questions?

They seem way easier than anything in the books, but Im still gonna study hard since I'd rather be over prepared than under prepared. Not sure what the actual test is really like.

My main focus on studying is the math also since I havent taken a math class in 2 years. Im also practicing the stuff when you have to read a story and answer the questions since I havent done anything like that since high school.

Im aiming to score at least a 157 in raw score so I can have at least 100pts from the NAT to add to my points.

good luck with your NAT

The fccj website has a link to some NAT sample questions so I'm going to look over those. I'm going to study really hard too. I'm aiming for 100 points also.

Thanks for the answer and good luck!
