If you've taken this 3 hours long, 150 items and $500 worth of test, please respond with pointers on how to be successful.
Since May, I have finished going through the two review books, attended a live prep, reviewed a webinar on CNE prep by Billings. Currently reading the book "Teaching in Nursing" by Diane Billings & Halstead. Answering the questions on Self Assessment Exam and the ones in the review books. My test is scheduled for August 4th.
Any ideas?

Sounds like you've done everything you can. I did a live review and read Billings and Halstead. Barely passed- but I did pass.
Quite encouraging, thank you. Any strategies you'd recommend in tackling the questions, topics to focus on, possible environmental distractions and how to ward off any such interferances?
Ear plugs! Seriously- I took my exam at (of all places) an H&R Block Tax Prep place and the two people in the testing center with me were taking a test to become lawn fertilizer applicators.
Take your time- and review the report you got when you took the practice test. That's my best advice.
good luck
Awesome!! I am scheduled to take my test at an H&R Block Tax Prep too. I will definitely get ear plugs, thank you.

I have taken at least one of my board certs — actually, I think it was both the CEN and the Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN) exam — with that AMP company, which is always co-located with H&R Block. So weird! I am looking at taking the CNE and sad to discover that the closest site is more than an hour away. Booooo! The ER board certs are now done with Pearson, which has more locations!
I took my Peds CCRN at that H&R Block- and there were two scruffy looking guys testing to get certified for lawn chemical application. They were seriously freaking out that they had to figure the area of a rectangle without a calculator. And here's me- figuring weight-based peds dosing of pressors in mcg/ kg/ min. with my trusty pencil and paper.
Nursing FTW!
Good luck!! Please let us know how it goes. I am planning on studying for mine during maternity leave that starts next month and will likely schedule my exam in December-ish. :)

Take the test already!! No really, I am trying to get ready for the exam myself and you have prepared well I would imagine. When I took the certification exam for CCRN I took a similar tact and it worked out great. Good luck and thanks for the encouragement!

Please let us know how it goes. I have not taken it but am interested in doing so once I am done with my doctorate.
