Practice tests for ANCC certification exams

I was recently approved to take the exam for psychiatric mental health nursing specialty certification. I let my certification lapse a few years back now I not only need to have my 150 hours but also retake the exam. I have well over the CE hours minimum but it's been a while since I took the exam.

I bought the ANCC review book (also got 22 CE credits through ANA after testing for the review material- it was a great deal) but I'm looking for reasonably priced practice exams.

Has anyone used ExamEdge? I took their 10 question free sample test and it seemed too easy. They offer a ten exam, 100 questions each package for $69 (with some sort of discount). Or does anyone have any other suggestions? I appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Kathy

I recently took a different ANCC certification exam (ambulatory care), so this may not apply - but I found all the books you could buy on amazon were very irrelevant to the actual test (and too easy!) and sent them back. The only book I found useful was the core curriculum book and related questions.. So be wary of the vanity press test question books. :) I have not tried examedge - hopefully someone else has :)

You'll probably do fine since this is a retake for you.

Thanks for your feedback Featherz. I liked ExamEdge because it's online and you get immediate feedback, it's timed or untimed (based on your preference) and gives rationales for all questions.

I didn't find anything else out there when I did a search for these types of practice tests. I really just want to be as prepared as possible so I don't have to retake and pay another fee:cat:
