PPD - nervous every time

I am a nursing student and have just finished my TB test. In the past 3 years I have done 3 of them and everytime I get incredibly paranoid that I am going to have a positive test. The chances of me having been exposed are slim as we can't take care of TB patients d/t the fact that the hospitals are not going to fit us for an N95. But regardless I keep looking at my arm, feeling it and getting nervous. The other night I spent about an hour online looking at pics of positive tests.

And yes, the test was again negative. But I dread everytime I have to get one and the possiblity that I may have a reaction. Oh, and I got my tetorifice too and my arm is SORE!

Anyone else get worried when they have to get their yearly PPD done?

No, not here.

Remember, a positive test (which will be repeated) means you've been exposed, not that you have the active disease.

This is something you'll do annually as long as you work in health care.

I have no worries about the yearly PPD.

Personally, I wish I would test positive, then they could leave me alone about the dang thing. Give me a cxr, then leave me alone 72 hrs later...lol.

Don't sweat it. The worst that could happen is having to take a few pills for several months.

I had a positive PPD in January.. I'm in the middle of a course of INH, but nobody may ever bother me for a PPD test again :lol2:

The results don't bother me. It's the teeeny weeeeny needle that scares me. ;)
