Post Op time frame stable vs unstable

What is the time frame for a Post Op patient to be considered stable for priority nclex questions?

I did read anything post op 12 hours or more is stable vs post op 4 hours?

how about in days- post op 4 days? do you look into the disease disorder and how it associates with ABCs/safety? Thanks

You look at the patient. There is no absolute. A child who went to the OR for dental extraction is nothing like the CHD child post heart-liver-lung transplant heading towards DIC & awaiting the ascites to improve may take weeks to months to stabilize

a reasonably health post op knee replacement is likely going to recover quicker than a patient post op debridement of extensive necrotising fasciitis affecting most of the torso in the early stages of septic shock

Stable depends on the patient full picture
