Post Interview Help ASAP!!

Published

Ok, I went for an interview last week to a hospital job and she did not say 'you have the job' she said 'go think about it and then give me a call' so I took that as if I wanted the position she would more than likely offer it to me. I went to an employment agency the beginning of this week and she said she thought I had a good chance of landing something with them. I would rather get something through the employement agency because she is going to try to place me in an area that is a better for me vs. hospital. The hospital is really not my cup of tea. So now I am stuck..I do need a job so I hate to turn down the hospital one if the employment agency thing falls through. I need to call the hospital one back today but I am not sure what to say or tell her. I was thinking something like,

"thank you again for taking the time out to interview me. I was going to touch base with you and let you know that I have some interviews set up this and next week and I feel I should explore my options before making a sound decision."

What do you all think??

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks all!! :)

I would say something like, "I have one other offer to consider, can I let you know my decision next week?" or something like "I'm still considering the position, is it okay if I let you know my final decision next week?" Thank her for the interview, but don't go too much in detail regarding why you need more time to make a decision. Beware of agencies, the recruiters lie so much. They will sell you all kinds of dreams so they can make money. Good luck!

Um, take it! I had an interview with an employment agency in DECEMBER for a job close to home and in an area where I've got experience, and found out YESTERDAY that they hired someone the doctor knows instead of me, the person screened by the employment agency. An interview with an employment agency does NOT guarantee you a job or even further interviews and you don't know how long you'll wait between open spots with the agency.
