I just sent in my application for the cpne!!! I put a ready date of august 1 to mpac at all sites except lubbock. I opted for weekdays and cancels with a weeks notice. Boy am i nervous!:uhoh3:

I am about half through the study guide and am a bit overwhelmed but am fairly certain that once i see lynn and sheri taylors videos online that ill feel better! Time to start sleep deprivation again!!!

All i can think is " OMG please let me do this!!!" :o

You can do it! My friend said make sure to be prepared to write a care plan and act like a new graduate RN not an LPN with experience. Good Luck! Let us know how you do.

You can do this!!!!!!!!! Just think of it this way 64% that means that people in the past have passed at a ratio of 2:1.... For every person that fails TWO PASS. I would say those are pretty good odds. Keep us posted.

Oh! I am so excited for you! This almost exactly what I am going to do, with not doing lubbock but I will also go NPAC. For the NPAC I will need 2 weeks notice of cancels I think. I am so anxious to see your dates :) Congrats on getting your app in! Keep us posted!

Yes that's what I hear, everyone I have talked to that has passed the CPNE said that knowing the study guide is very important. I remember a poster on here saying it really is necessary to read every single page at least one time. Atleast they give us all the paperwork that we will need for the actual test in the study guide. I am going to make lots of copies and put them in transparent sleeves so I can write on them with dry erase markers.

Check out the EPN. I have been reading all the journals from the passers on there and downloading all the grids and tips they post to sort through so I can figure out what works best for me, it makes me happy to go on that board because you truly see the exam is doable and that alot of people do pass. :-)

Where are you finding the grids Beachie?

Good luck, just passed my CPNE at Utica. Read the whole manual front to back at least once, and know those critical elements like the back of your hand, LOL! I took a workshop too, really critical for me to pull everything together - and tools to stay on track with care and documenting. Send in care plans and documentation to EC to critique as well!!

Ive heard to keep the care plans simple and generic- im having a hard time with that! Congrats on passing!! So i know this is crazy, but what are the ce's and aoc's i keep reading? Im a bit confused but am working on the guide!! Lots of info-- the tests were the easy part! Lol

The ce's are the critical elements and the aoc is the area of care that they will assign youi. I passed CPNE last weekend at Mansfield, OH. The CE's (clinical examiners) and the CA (clinical assosciate) were super nice. They want you to pass and they are excited for you when you do. I did not take a hands on workshop but I did do sheri's online workshop and it was great. Keep careplans simple and know your critical elements forwards and backwards. The CPNE is doable if you can keep your nerves and stress under control. Highlight everything that you are assigned to do so you do not forget to do something!!!!
