Possible New Job

Ok i need some advice please, my current job i work on a intermediate post open heart floor i work weekend incentive nights. I am really looking for a day job since my husband will be done with physical therapy school in Dec. I have always wanted to work in a doctors office well i hadn a interview for a family practice office with in the hospital so i will keep my benefits and senority but i will be taking about 2.00 pay cut. I know i would love to work there considering the hours and no weekend or holidays, but the pay cut does bother me. Does any one have any advice on what they would do. I am used to bringing home a pretty good amount of money with overtime and incentives. so i am a little worried

If no weekends or holidays is that important to you, I would go with the $2/hr pay cut. Maybe you could still work a couple shifts on your hospital floor on weekends or holidays to supplement your income. If it's for the hospital or company, you might get overtime if you work over 40 hours. I would love a Mon-Fri job and would take a pay cut for it. It's up to you though. Make a list of pro's and con's to help. Good luck with your decision.;)

Run the numbers and decide if you can afford the pay cut. Then, like Jen1288 said, make a pro and con list and decide how important the hours are to you. Good luck!

I have been working in a office setting for nine months now. When I was offered the job it was almost a $2 pay cut, and I just told the human resources manager that I couldn't afford the pay cut. They called me back the next day and agreed to match my current hourly rate. I guess it just depends how bad they need help. Try that and see if anything happens.
