Hello all!
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with distance learning variants of PMHNP programs, as my state only offers one, but I wish to apply to others just in case.
Any and all help is appreciated :)

I am doing a distance program. 1200 miles away and I have no issues with it. I hate the essays on theory just as much as if I was 20 minute away from the school

I am looking at a few programs but have little information. I sent a request for more information for University of South Alabama MHPNP. There is also Gonzanga University that offers a program. So far in my limited research South Alabama looks affordable and attainable. I will keep you posted if I find any other options.
Nice! Care to share at which school and if you like it or if it seems like it will prepare you sufficiently?
Eastern Kentucky university. I like it. Everything seems to have a fast reply. Even the writing center has a video conference which is helpful. I work three jobs, 2 mo old son and school so I manage it. I rent books from Amazon and it works out. Teachers give syllabus early so I can make pla s ahead of time.
They report 100% board pass rate. Which is all that mattered to me. I know two people that flunked nursing school and now are in dnp schools at Drexel and walden so tome that put a bad taste in my mouth about pursing those schools

Thanks for the reply! Wow, you have a lot on your plate! Im guessing you go part time or do you go full time, too? How far along are you? Sorry I am looking at a couple schools and that was one of them, very curious here lol

I attend EKU also. It is a PT program over 3 years. The courses are 8 weeks in length so there are 2 per semester initially. I think the clinical component is different. I have only completed 2 courses but I like it so far. They are well organized and prompt; and it's a legitimate brick and mortar school as well. I work FT and manage fine. I'll have to cut back when clinicals start but that's quite a ways in the future.
My replies are done over my iPhone 4 which has seen better days so please pardon my grammar.
The 8 week classes are set up perfectly for what I have going on. Since my last post I dropped two of the prn and went ft at one where over time is plentiful. The hardest part of the school right now is trying to get the readings in. I read a chapter of epidemiology to my son last night and it had a paradoxical effect than expected.
Mi loath apa but that is what masters nursing is. Papers lots of papers. Finding someone to write them is futile and I so far haven't learned much from doing them other than I would like to buy Jean watson a hot cup of what da &!,@.
Once out of this section of hell I hope to be more focused as a mental health np. I talk the program up enough that four people just applied from my old job.
