I just want to know when I can start applying for job as an international trained nurse. I passed out from school 2006 november and just worked for 6 months before relocating to united state. am currently waiting for my ATT and am nervous and realy eager to start working. I have been preparing so hard for my exam for the past 7 months cos it took a long time for the cgfns stuff to be done. I just want to know if I can start applying for jobs now. thank you for your reply.

I think it probably depends on which state you are trying to get your license in. I would contact the BON for that state.

it's better for you to take and pass the nclex and then go job hunting.... good luck!

Most facilities are going to want you to have actually taken and passed the NCLEX-RN exam before they will even offer a job.
If you have a visa that will permit you to work, you could get a job as a CNA, but other than that; without having the RN exam passed, there are no other jobs for you at this time.
Best of luck to you.
Thank you so much. I came through visa lottery and have a permanent residence [green card]. if I have to apply as a cna which means I will have to go and register for certification exam. I currently reside in NC and is it possible for me to work as a cna without writing the certification exam ? thank you for your reply.
