I was enrolled in Chemistry this summer and was doing great. Unfortunately, I used my niece as my babysitter. She was great, my sister was not. SO, I lost my babysitter and had to drop Chem.
Here's where it gets complicated.... I got a tuition waiver for Chem since my GPA was so high. This constitutes financial aid. It was the only class that I took so dropping it constitutes dropping an entire semester. I filed an appeal for financial aid and got my certificate for being a distinguished student all in the same day!!! Go figure:banghead:
So, now I am waiting for the appeal decision. Please wish me luck as I dont know how I will take care of the fall semester without the financial aid. Thanks

Good luck! I'm sure it is incredibly frustrating to have to drop a class when you are this close to ns, but don't lose sight of your goals.
Thanks so much... It was pretty upsetting as my sister and I have a love/hate relationship. I never thought it would go down the way it did.
I am applying to OSU/OKC for the spring so right now I am just plowing ahead and trying to put it behind me. I will say that it really makes me appreciate the babysitting situations people find themselves in.
Thanks again:D

Good luck on your appeal and application to OSU-OKC, I will be attending there this Fall. I've been through so many trials with financial aid it's ridiculous. Financial aid is indeed a blessing for me, I could not go to school without it.
Hi All,
I just wanted to say thanks so much for the support on that thread. In the grand scheme of things, it's good news. I get my financial aid for the fall semester and all is right with the world..... On the other hand, I am ticked!
I called the school because I was getting tired of going out to the mailbox everyday looking for my appeal approval. The financial aid advisor starts apologizing all over the place saying that since I didnt get FEDERAL financial aid, I didnt need to file the appeal!! I only got a tuition waiver throught the school. This means I spent most of the summer stressing about whether or not my reason was good enough and realizing that there was no way that I could afford the fall semester if they decided it wasnt.
Oh well, it turned out ok but I so wish they would get it together up there!! Thanks again
