Nurses Recovery

Published

Hi can anyone help me find an attorney in Western PA? I have been in the VRP for almost 3 years. I recently took my dog's phenobarbital accidently and now the board is threatening to take my license. I already lost my job over this. I just celebrated 3 years of sobriety April 8, 2011. My recovery means everything to me. In the 3 years, I never missed work, was never late and got great evaluations. And making one simple unintentional error, I feel my life is over. Also, I was thinking about going to school to be a vet technician but will I be able to obtain a license? Thanks for any advice.

I responded to your post in another thread. Here's the link to that post "I too need help."

i would like to know that also, just curious.

however, i can help you with your question regarding licensing in the future. within our fine state of pa, if any such actions have been taken upon your current license and/or your are put on the exclusions list you will not qualify for other occupational licensing. in fact, i had just spoke to someone in the legal dept with the state board of occupations, she has informed me that you will not be granted any other license if your license has been revoked. even if you want to surrender your license, you must obtain consent from the state and thats without any recovery issues hindering that decision.

i made such inquiries because i had the same idea to go back and finish my landscape architect degree, but also need a license for same. Urrgh!!!! future looks bleak for change of careers

good luck to you, wish you the best outcome with the bon
