Daytonight has provided the best place to start.

It is so hard to tell someone how to study. It is such an individual thing... for both the student, and how they retain information, and the fact that teachers write test differently. I would start with paying attention to the kind of questions you are getting wrong. Are you not knowing the information, second guessing yourself, or not getting the nursing process order down (what to do first). Our instructor encourage us to set up a meeting with them if we are not happy with test scores and they will help us identify what areas we are struggling with.

Best of luck.

The above posters have given u great information. You need to talk to your professor, so many times students bypass the professor/ tutoring sessions to find out they are struggling and don't seek help til after the damage is done. You have already taken tests & scored only 75% I am not sure how ur program works, but if this were my program you would be @ risk of dismissal. Your professor is there to guide u, they will be happy to help u (trust me). Create a study group talking about the information outloud & seeing some of the ways your classmates retain the information helps a whole bunch, but there are so many different rituals we all have that helps us survive it is very difficult to tell u how to study, especially in nursing. The advice on this forum will lead u in the right direction, it's up to u to find a path thats fits you. Good Luck.

thanx for all the replies.

And also... By the Saunders NCLEX review book (around $45) and answer those questions on the topic you're studying. Look at the rationales. It will truly help you.
