I am doing a careplan for an individual with Alzhiemer's Disease and using Confusion, Chronic as my Nursing diagnosis but now I am confused. I can't figure out where it falls in Maslows hierarchy of needs. I have to have that first in my plan and then number them in the order of importance. The other ND's I have are
Imbalanced Nutrition: Less than body's requirement as Physiological and Falls, at risk for under Safety. I just can't figure out where confusion fits in the pyramid. Could someone please help. I have searched for an hour through old posts and different places and about an hour going through the many books I have too and am still at a loss. Thanks so much!

It also falls under Safety.
Confusion can lead to the person's safety being at risk.

I would say that chronic confusion goes hand in hand with safety needs, especially because it is a contributing factor to the fall risk. That's just my take on it!
Thank you sooo much!
