PLEASE HELP. TO ALL NURSES IN FLORIDA, HAVE YOU BEEN A VICTIM OF BLACKMAIL OR LIES FROM IPN IN WHICH THEY FALSIFY REPORTS IN CONJUNCTION WITH AN IPN "EVALUATOR" THREATENING TO TAKE YOUR LICENSE UNLESS YOU PAY FOR UNNECESSARY TREATMENTS FROM THEIR IPN FACILITIES ? While there are nurses that do need help, their evaluations should be affordable (not $1000 per hr) , should be unbiased and not a conflict of interest and help should not be only allowed unless it is an IPN facility. While I do not have a problem, my evaluation was a joke. I have a perfect work history, no complaints, disciplinary actions and no medication discrepancies, None of my references were called and they claimed I failed a drug test but still will not provide the lab results despite me hiring a lawyer. I also went to 2 of the best labs in Florida (quest and labcorp )and my labs were obviously negative, but IPN refuses to acknowledge them. Both of my Charge Nurses wrote letters of character on my behalf as well as two other co-workers, but those were ignored. I threatened to go to the BON and tell what was going on and now the "evaluator" changed his final eval saying that I have several addiction issues (total lie. I had 3 drinks in 2015 and none 2016 and I do not do drugs) and that I have been in trouble at work (no proof and a total lie) and worse of all, now I have a borderline personality disorder !! NOW they are further discrediting me by trying to get an Emergency order of suspension against my license before I can get before the BON. Who is going to believe me over IPN and their doctor? My lawyer was able to prove with his last client that IPN tells their evaluators what to say, by intercepting an email between the two. This has been going on for 7 months.I have borrowed money, taken out loans and I have lost everything, my life savings, my health care, my job,. I am about to lose my car and be homeless. Some co-workers loaned me money to pay for my lawyer to fight this, but I cannot afford him anymore after spending over $4000. IPN doesn't care about your rights and this is not a court of law and they answer to NO ONE. The BON believethem and they have done this to hundreds. I cry every day and feel so hopeless. Any advice?

Slow down. Take a breath.
First of all, why are you being required to have an evaluation? How did you get involved with IPN?

I feel you on the spazzing out. This is a frightening experience and yes, chock full of questionable ethics, etc. HOWEVER, spazzing out is not helpful. As shugamomma said Breathe!! You will do yourself a huge favor if you calm down and try to look at this a little more rationally. I realize it's difficult. Regardless of what occurred that got you to this point, try to calm down. There are plenty of us who have been sucked into the IPN machine, some appropriately, some not. We've all been where you are now and understand. I promise you, you are not alone in this.

It is unethical to both diagnose and treat in this instance- I was also recommended to a higher level of care by an organization that had financial ties to treatment. I was luckily able to get a second evaluation at a facility that did not offer the inpatient treatment...
That said- I did speak to a lawyer who basically told me that if I was diverting drugs (yes) that I should just do what the BON said- that they make the rules- they win.
So try to find a way to work within the system- the more one tries to fight it the more troublesome it becomes.
