i took the nclex at 8am on june 25th. i had 75 questions and walked out at 9:30am. i did not feel bad. i felt indifferent. i thought the questions were not that bad, some even kinda easy. i felt good all day. then the days following up to this morning i felt like...worried i failed because the questions were easy..."i must have been in the low level questions, i thought it was going to be so much harder!"...but this morning at 4:15 am i got to see rn next to my name!
i studied my orifice off for 5 weeks. i give credit to hurst review. i was so terrified of the nclex i took the hurst review three times; once last summer, once this winter, and once the week after graduation this may. i made flash cards for each section just the way they suggested with just key phrases on them (nearly 1,200 cards) and then did saunders questions after each section in the hurst review book (i.e. i studied neuro in hurst and then did saunders questions on neuro) in addition to the two sets of practice questions they had. after i went through the entire saunders book; just the questions (the blue one), i started going over and over my flash cards until i could stand up and teach my dog everything in the hurst review book (he is a captive audience:paw:
)
maybe i should mention that i have a documented learning disability. i was given nine hours and private room to take this test. i was done in an hour and a half and got the least number of questions possible. and i am not trying to be mean here...but i did not think the test was that hard, i don't understand how people can not pass...if they take the hurst review that is...i am not trying to advertise here...but if i had not taken it i would have had no direction in to where and what to study, and they make it totally make sense...even better than when they taught it in school...way better. plus, some of the teachers write nclex questions and their practice questions are the most like nclex that i have ever seen in any review. then they have this mock nclex and when you go to grade it you watch a dvd and they explain each answer and give tips on how to answer nclex questions and think in the nclex world.
