I took my Math placement test and my score placed me only at Fundamentals of Algebra which is two Maths below what I need to start my nursing sequence. I do have the option of taking the test again and trying to place higher. But I don't know if I need to just take the beginner course to be fully refreshed or try to place higher and go straight into the intermediate. Any suggestions or shared experiences?

If you are motivated and you are sure you want to try refresh math by yourself why not? But in my opinion Placement test shows you what you can do. So I would take Fundamentals of Algebra. But this is me. I started this quarter with Elementary Algebra and I am happy with that. At least I won't be struggling with Chemistry during fall quarter.
Yes that does make sense, I don't know. I will brush up on my skills and take the test again and see where the ball lands. Thanks for the advice.

I just posted something like this on another post, but check out algebrahelp.com. I was scared that I'd place really low for math, so for the past few weeks I reviewd everything on that site before my skills assessment. I've been out of school for nearly a decade, so my math skills reverted back to being able to balance my checkbook. After reviewing the site I took the test and was able to place at the math level I need. Check it out. It's also a really good site to reinforce what they are teaching in the classroom
Check it out for a week or two and then retest.
Good luck!
