Agencies can charge you what ever they want......should they? No. They are getting paid by the facility as well, and this is double dipping.

Placement fee? Bunch of garbage. But can they have you pay your immigration fees, and licensing fees? YES, and this is the better type of agency to sign up with. That means that you get all of the money being paid and they are not taking anything from it. But placement fee? Run.

But first question to you, do you already have a Canadian license, or have passed their licensing exam?

hi suzanne!! i have not yet taken the CRNE..the secretary told us that if we pass the interview (2 sets of it) that's the time that we will apply for the exam, same thing with the ielts..but she didnot elaborate why should we be paying the placement fee. she told us the bosses will be the one to explain to us after the interview.. and she also told us that the placement fee will depend on our job experinece and interview...

Sorry, but do not agree with what you are being told by them. They cannot offer you a job if you have not taken the licensing exam. And who are you interviewing with? The agency? A facility is not going to be interested if you have not even taken the exam yet.

Makes no sense at all. And just another way for the agency to get money from someone that doesn't know about the requirements for there. They cannot even begin to apply for a visa for you until you have proof of passing the exam, bet that they did not tell you that either.

I think it's a scam. I would stay away from that agency if I were you. they want your money. that's the bottomline.

i am not an expert on canadian immigration (but based from what i read on the website) isn't it as a nurse you can directly apply to take the crne and also you can directly apply to be a permanent resident in canada as long as you meet their requirements? you don't necessarily have to go through an agency. check out this website: www.cic.gc.ca hope this helps.

you are quite correct in this. and no job can be offered to work as an rn if you have not taken and passed their licensing exam.
