AND I HAVE PIERCINGS ON MY EARS....
THEY'RE NOT YOUR NORMAL PIERCINGS THOUGH.
THEY ARE PLUGS...THEYRE THOSE HOLES IN YOUR EARS AND THE HOLE IS BIG ENOUGH TO FIT YOUR PINKY FINGER IN IT.....
DO YOU THINK I WILL NOT GET A JOB AS AN LVN BECAUSE OF THEM???
AND ONE MORE QUESTION.....
CAN ANYONE TELL ME AN ESTIMATE ON HOW MUCH THEY SPENT FOR THE WHOLE LVN PROGRAM....
THANK YOU!!!!!!

At my nursing program, you could only wear simple pair of studs, no plugs. You can check with the program first but most likely you will have to remove them. Secondly I paid about 1,250 dollars on books and supplies and about 4,500 on tuition.
Good luck!

Most places limit you to stud type earrings if they allow jewelry at all. The ear plugs probably wouldn't go over well. More than likely, you'd have to remove them. LVN programs can vary quite a bit in cost. I'm in a community college RN program and it only runs about $1500 a semester for tuition, supplies and books. (4 semesters) Of course I took two years of classes before that to get in to the program...
I've heard of programs that are MUCH more expensive.

It really depends on the program and where you live. I went through nursing school with my tongue & nose pierced (as well as my ears pierced 5 times in each ear) and never heard a word about my piercings in Northern California.
I now live in SE Texas and specifically asked the new place I'm working if any of my piercings were against their dress code because it states "No nose, lip or eyebrow rings." The piercing in my nose is a tiny stud, but I wanted to make sure it wasn't an issue.
Some places are more lax than others. I had a girl in my class who had pink/black/blonde hair and another with visible tattoos when she was in uniform. Some places care and others just care about whether or not you're a good nurse.
I've never had a problem getting a job, but I'm sure there are others who have. If school policy or work dress codes don't specify "no ear plugs" and you are accepted to the program or hired at a job then I wouldn't make it an issue if they don't bring it up. Good luck!

Having had what appears to be the same guage ear piercings before I began nursing school and knowing this would not be acceptabe, I removed my plugs months before beginning school. They shrunk to about half the size as they were and I wore plugs that fit - no one knew the difference.
Of course you have the option of stretching your piercings again after finishing your program though I chose not to and allowed my piercings to shrink back to where I now where regular earrings and enjoy increased variety of options - but that's up to the individual. At my place of employment and other healthcare settings I notice that many of the staff sport heavy guage ear piercings as well as other facial piercings, so apparently it's not an isssue in many work environments. In school or at least the one I attended the only acceptable jewelry was 2 small ear studs and a wedding ring.
The program I graduated from cost me approx. $16,000 including tuition, books and supplies for the 10 1/2 month program.

It depends on the school. I had nose piercing, 5 piercings in one ear and 3 in the other ear when I was in nursing school. But I only wore a tiny nose stud and a pair of small earrings (studs) to clinicals. It was no problem. When I was in the RN program at another school, I couldn't wear the tongue stud or the nose stud. My advice would be to ask the program director, just to be safe.
As far as cost of LVN schooling, in my area for a junior college, everything will cost approx $2500-$4000 (good luck with the long waiting list). Private school, approx $15,000-$26,000. Good luck wtih your nursing career! We need you.:)

We are only allowed to wear one set of earrings. The earring doesn't have to be in the "traditional" piercing site (earlobe), it can be anywhere on the ear BUT they have to be a small stud. In my school your type of piercing wouldn't fly at all. And any other piercings (eyebrown, lip, nose etc) cannot be worn during clinicals. And if you have any tattoos, they have to be covered at all times during clinicals.
The cost of school greatly depends on your location, whether it is a private school or not. The State run program here in CT runs about $5,000 whereas the private tech schools run upwards of $25K or better.

youd be surprised ... when I was @ clinicals theres a nurse there who has those plug sorta piercings ... not sure if the ones he has is the same as yours and he has tatoos sleeved on both arms .. and as long as he didnt have any piercings on his face .. they said it was OK. I think for the interview ... that should be discussed. They cant just not hire you because you have piercings..
