Pierce Nursing Program Puyallup 2017

Anyone out there that is a current student at Pierce in Puyallup? Or any fellow applicants? I just applied for the program start for Fall 2017. I'm hoping to get some insight into the program from current students. I'm wondering how many days a week you guys are in class and from what times? Clinical sites? And your overall opinion of the program! Also happy to hear from anyone else who recently applied! TIA!

I'm a current student at Pierce and just applied to the program. We have a little bit of a wait ahead of us! I too am interested in what the schedule is like. Good luck!

Good luck to you as well! I thought the application eas pretty extensive compared to other programs I've applied for. And now they have added the group interview which pushes our determination date into August, that is so frustrating. How did you do on your Kaplan if you don't mind me asking?

Yes, the application process at Pierce is pretty intense. I did fairly well on the Kaplan. I scored in the 90s on all sections except the science, which I scored a 75. So I will receive a total of 14 out the possible 15 number or points. How was it for you?

I talked to Stania today about the interviews. She said that the top 40 that make it to the interview phase will all start the same. If there are ties, then they will look back at the points from the first phase. She also estimated that she received around 140 application packets which is a little less than I had estimated.

I got an 85 overall, I don't remember how I did on each section but I know that English was actually my worst score. I believe everything over 80 gets you the maximum extra points? I can't remember. I'll be checking back here through out the next two months hoping to hear something! Good luck!! I hope we both get in!

Hello! I'm currently in the program (3rd qtr). The schedule is usually 2 days of lab (that turn into clinical), a day "off", and 1 full day of lecture (9-4) and 1 half day (9-12). You are at long term care facilities the 1st two qtrs & hospital for the remaining quarters.

I got a call today that I made it to the interview phase. I am now waiting on my letter to see what date my interview will be on. Have you received your phone call yet?

Congratulations! I didn't make it but was accepted into Highline's program! Good luck to you!

What are the hours for lab? Is it also 9-4?

Hello, did you make it into the program? I was just trying to connect with classmates before school starts in 2 weeks!
