I know at Sunrise there is an RN who exclusively does PICC insertion. That's all he does all day. I don't know about other hospitals. I think it would be a matter of giving them all a call.

I put an application in for this position. Do you have a tele for this department?

THanks!

No tele, sorry. I'm a student there now and don't have that info. Maybe you can call HR and try to get into contact with the head of the IV Team? I'll put a reminder in my PDA to ask around when I go to clinical this Sat. If I'm lucky I'll see a member of the IV Team and ask about your situation and who to call. I'll try to get a name and number if possible. No promises though. Every so often I get someone who hates to give students any info. Do you want to PM me your contact info so that if I run into the IV head honcho I can pass it on?

UMC has an "IV Team" that strictly places IV's, PICC's, etc. It seems the jobs are hard to come by though because their job seems fairly laid back, aside from placing IV's and PICC's all day.

Hey I have some info for you but I can't PM you. When I try it says you don't accept PMs and I don't want to put a name on the thread. Its HR not the manager as the manager does not accept nonHR referrals. She wants everything to come through HR. So I have a name for someone in HR to haunt.
