Picabo Street

The famous Olympic skier Picabo Street (pronounced Peek-a-boo) is not

just an athlete. She is now a nurse currently working at the Intensive Care

Unit of a large metropolitan hospital. She is not permitted to answer the

hospital telephones any longer. It caused too much confusion when she

would answer the phone and say: Picabo, I.C.U.

A good clean joke is hard to find these days. (Admit

it...you're smiling!) I got this in my email and didn't realize it was a joke at first. I have no idea whether she is actually a nurse.

Well, in my email it was identified as a joke, but I still didn't know whether she was actually a nurse. I think the story about her donating money for an ICU because of her father being treated in a particular hospital was especially amusing, since the administrator quoted said they were going to totally revamp the unit with the money she donated. As if an Olympic athlete of her age and standing would have enough $ to make that substantial of a donation.

Oh no no no, I didn't mean that in a bad way. You clearly said that you knew it was a joke, I didn't mean to imply that you had got that wrong. In the snopes article it cleared up the question of if she was really a nurse or not, that is the only reason I posted the link.

I'm sorry if my post came across wrong!

Much love to my fellow nurses! :kiss

Good one! :D

Hey, remember this IS the Humour Forum.......

Suebird :)

David Letterman did a version of it many years about after her round at the Olympics. His version was that she had donated money to her local hospital and the most needed work was in the ICU so it was renovated and named Picabo ICU.

What a great name!

Too funny!:lol2: :lol2: :lol2:
