For a study day at work we have been asked to outline the physiological implications of psychotropic medication in paediatric patients.
I'm not really understanding the question, what does physiological implications of psychotropic medication mean? The physiological effects of the drug?
Thanks!

What are the side effects?
I googled your query and came up with this:
The Neural Effects of Psychotropic Medications in Children and Adolescents
http://iacapap.org/wp-content/uploads/A.7-PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGY-072012.pdf
Not a typical scientific resource but not exactly inaccurate either:

Apparently I can't list the side effects. Questioned the teacher and I need to list the effect on the body. Thanks heaps !!! :)
Look up the risks of amphetamines . Some of the antipsychotics can cause life threatening electrolyte and blood count levels. Same for antiseizure medications used as mood stabilizers. Look at the side effects and pharmacodynamics and you will find the answer
Stimulants cause appetite suppression which leads to weight loss and risk for calcium depletion and bone loss devastating in a child which increases fracture risk in an already hyperactive child.
Look at the links I posted. The last is quite informative.
