Physical Therapy Program for Nurses

Hi,

Are there any PT programs for RN's?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I'd like to know also. My daughter wants to become a Physical Therapist and my husband is telling her to get her RN first. Is this a good idea?

They are two completely separate fields.

An MS in Physical Therapy is the becoming the entry level for PTs.

Massage Therapy can go along with the RN, but PT is a completel separate field.

Correction. A DOCTORATE IS NOW THE ENTRY INTO PRACTICE FOR PHYSICAL THERAPISTS.

Lindarn, RN, BSN, CCRN

actually...

there are still masters programs out there, so while the push for the doctorate is definitely there (like the push for doctorate to be entry to practice for nps), it hasn't happened yet. this is per the american physical therapy association.

what are the differences between a professional (entry-level) master's degree program and a professional (entry-level) doctoral program?

both levels are accredited by capte using the evaluative criteria for accreditation of education programs for the preparation of physical therapists. the institution determines the degree to be offered.
