Phoenix, AZ - Can't wait to go!

I am a traveler currently in California and am going to be working at Banner-thunderbird hospital. Hopefully it will be a good experience. I have been loving the whole travel scene so far, and can't wait. Any ideas for me in that particular area of Pheonix, AZ. I will be in Glendale. Any info about the hospital? Would love to hear from travelers or staff. thanks so much!

I live by Banner Tbird, but work in Scottsdale across town. It's a good hospital; not a level one, though. I have heard that the staff nurses take a long time to warm up to new people (like two years). Anything specific about the area you'd like to know? I'm a shopping and nightlife expert!

I like night life and I definitely like shopping if the shopping is good and hopefully cheap! Anyways, how far away is Glendale from Phoenix! I am wondering where the nearest watering hole is because I am originally from wisconsin, and we likes to drink over dar. Where is a mall? where is a nice place for dinner? Where do I start? Are you a traveler? Anyways, give me a holler sometime.

I work at T-bird. PM me if you want more info....:p

I live a few miles down the street from T-bird. The hospital is right on the border between Phoenix and Glendale.......there's not much difference. There are watering holes all over the place - but the trendiest night life is in Scottsdale. The hospital has two main malls near it. Metrocenter is the closest but is going downhill. Then you have Arrohwead mall to the northwest (I am guessing 6 miles) that is nicer. I have done many clinicals at T-bird and find the nurses quite nice - except in the CVICU area where the employess are disgruntled with management.

Hey cool! thank you for the info. I just got into town this week! glendale is pretty cool and I think tbird rocks. I have found bell street where it seems that everybody hangs out at. I went to carrabbas yesterday, never was there before, but it was very tasty. e-mail me if you ever are in the area or want to hang out.
