Personal question to ask!!

Published

I have a question that I am embarrassed to ask anyone about. I had a c-section on July 1st and of course am not allowed to have sex until 6 weeks pp. I was wondering if the time comes to get intimate....will having an orgasm hurt since I had surgery on my uterus?

I have tried finding info online regarding this and cannot find anything. I am actually kind of scared for the 6 wks to pass because hubby is looking forward to it :uhoh3:

I would appreciate any info from anyone who has either had a c-section or basically anyone who can answer this for me!! You can even privately message me if you wish!!

Thanks to all!

Never had babies myself. My mother had 3 c-sections (and while I dare ask her this), I think you should be okay. Did you ask your doctor? Someone will stroll around soon that will help you. Oh, and don't be embarassed.......there is no reason you should be :icon_hug:

I've had 2 c-sections. I don't recall having any problems at all with sex. In fact, hehehe, my hubby and I couldn't wait after my last one. Just be careful and do what's comfortable. Congrats on your new baby!!

No it won't. The spasming of such activity is mild at best and will not do harm to your surgical site----just be sure and follow dr orders about when you are allowed to resume sexual activity, and be sure your birth control is sound, unless you plan another child very soon.

Congratulations to you and your family!

Thanks for all the responses! The 6 week check up is in 8 days!

Try to remember, too, that the 6 week go ahead is not written in stone. If you are not up to full on intimacy, there's lots of room for negotiation. Just because your husband is ready for it doesn't mean you necessarily are. Communicate your feelings about this with him. After all, he can be eager since HE wasn't the one who had the c-section!

Good luck - it's such a time of adjustment .... you'll be fine!

You are absolutely right, Alison! However, I have actually been REALLY looking forward to "adult time" :wink2: and talking about it more than he does!
