Hi!
I start the MSN program at UAB in May. I'm wondering what type of internet access do you have for your current programs-any programs, not just UAB? I live in a rural area, so my internet options are very slim. I currently have a Verizon Wireless Jet Pack- MiFi. I've been very pleased with it as far as home use goes. My only other option is satellite internet.
What do you guys use?

You'll want a VERY reliable internet. Broadband is typically preferred especially during exams. You may want to take exams somewhere you have a reliable access. I graduated from UAB in 2010 and found that my broadband was the best.
Hope this helps.

You want the most reliable internet you can get regardless of cost!
How are exams done? Where I'm at the exams are proctors online....they watch and listen when I'm taking an exam. If my internet fails...it is 100% on me.
You need to feel very comfortable in your internet connection!
We had DSL and a cable modem...I'm doubled up.

Yes, we were also told there would be no exams re-set for failed internet connections.
Its looking like I will be utilizing my local library for exams. My MiFi has never let me down, but for exams, I can't risk a bad grade or "0" just because my internet crashed.
I wish DSL was available out in the country!

Does your public library have strong internet connection? Some students I know had to utilize this option for exams.
