Pelvic exam

When do you think someone who has regular period cycle (got her first period at 12), is now 17, is not sexually active should have her first pelvic. Alot of websites I have read say 13 or when ever you start your period no matter what your sexual activity level. What do you guys think?

I've always heard by 18 if you're not sexually active.

13, i'd think is a little young (unless they're sexually active, hopefully NOT)

Yep, I've always heard the same as Marie... 18 years old or sexually active, whichever comes first.

Or if anytime something is abnormal (i.e. getting a period two weeks after having one, heavier-than-usual period, cramps that cause nausea and vomiting, etc.)
