Hey all!
I graduated nursing school this past May 2014. I took the NCLEX on Sept 5th 2014 at 11am. As soon as I got home I did what anyone else would do and I logged straight onto the Pearson Vue website to try the "pearson vue trick". If you're reading this you probably know that the original trick was that you attempt to re-register, if you get a pop up you passed and if you are brought to the CC page you failed. I was 99% positive I passed when all of a sudden I was brought to the CC page. Pretty sure I had a panic attack, was devastated and couldn't believe what I was seeing. I was so convinced that there had to be some mistake that I turned to google to do some research. Turns out, Pearson Vue has recently updated their website (around August 24, 2014). With that update they also have changed the "Pearson Vue trick". Now, EVERYONE gets brought to the CC page regardless of whether or not your passed. You now must take it a step further and enter your credit card information. At this point you will either 1) get a pop up that says you cannot register at this time or 2) you will be brought to STEP 3 which is them accepting your payment of $200 (this unfortunately means you failed). It has only been a few weeks but so far it seems very accurate. I did the trick and received the "good pop up" and then 48hrs later got a "PASS" through quick results. I hope that this saves other people in my situation.
**IF YOUR CREDIT CARD HAS INSUFFICIENT FUNDS YOU CAN STILL DO THE TRICK, HOWEVER, IF YOU GET A POPUP THAT SAYS "INSUFFICIENT FUNDS" - IT IS LIKELY THAT YOU FAILED BECAUSE THAT MEANS THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD**

Yup, this topic has been quite the debate on here for the past couple weeks. Some believe that the PVT trick is dead. I believe it is still alive and well. I took NCLEX on September 3rd and I've been getting that pop up every day since the test. I live in Cali so quick results aren't available. Congrats on passing! :)

Yes this was my experience yesterday, I was sure I passed but then I had a heart attack after seeing the cc screen, but was feeling confused after it didn't take my payment. I feel better now so I'm just waiting on quick results.

Is there anyone that has paid and have still passed?

Yes. One of these bazillion threads has two people who were charged and subsequently passed. There is another thread where someone quite beautifully explained how this happens. The exam is scored twice. If you try the trick in between each scoring, there are a few possible scenarios:
1st scoring/second scoring/charged or not charged
1. Pass/pass/not charged and pop up is right
2. Pass/fail/not charged but pop up is wrong
3. Fail/fail/charged and pop up is right
4. Fail/pass/charged and pop up is wrong
thank you!! you are getting the pop up prior to the CC page?
You get the pop up after you submit your cc.
right. so it isn't gone it just has changed and still works very well! congrats to you as well!
No, it doesn't work "very well". See my previous comment.
Well this is technology we're talking about, nothing is going to be perfect. However, it has been a fairly reliable trick for many years and I believe that for the most part it still is.
Good luck to everyone who still has to take the test. Let us know if the trick works for you!

I don't see it as being very reliable. So far it seems there have been many people who have been charged, but ending up passing. I don't really consider something a good reliable trick that charges me $200 if in fact I passed.
It still works mt license was on the nursing boards website this morning, im a Rn now!
