NCLEX Testing with Pearson VUE

In my case, after I received my Eligibility to Test letter from CABRN, I then registered with PearsonVue and paid $200 on June 9th. PearsonVue sent my ATT via email pdf attachment (within less than 1 hour after PearsonVue registration) and was good for 1 year.

I'm not sure if this process and/or eligibility period applies to other states.

tnx begosh, do u have any idea about state of vermont? they said their ATT is valid only for 3months. im planning to take ielts on may, im afraid that if i will register now, they will issue the ATT right after. but the problem is if i will not register now, i couldnt able to see the available test sked on may. ;(

You won't be given eligibility/authorization to test until approved by the board of nursing. VT like many other states requires SSN to apply in addition to all the other requirements like CGFNS and English language proficiency. . You cannot even see the available test dates until you are issued authorization to test (ATT) by the board of nursing via Pearson Vue. Just because you sign up with Pearson now has no effect on whether a May test date will be available or if your application will be approved by then. It takes several months for assessment of credentials to be completed and it will not begin until all requirements are received. In other words if you don't take the IELTS until May you will still have to wait until your assessment is completed and approved by VTBoN. It's highly unlikely that you will be issued ATT the same month you test IELTS. .

I have no knowledge of how other states operate. Here's what I found about Vermont. I hope this helps.

Taking the NCLEX in the US state of Vermont

I understand where you're coming with not being able to see what's available unless you've completed registration with PearsonVue and pay $200. That was my problem too. Since this is my 2nd NCLEX RN try, I knew I had a year to test after receiving ATT.

What is your zip code? Perhaps I can search PearsonVue and let you know what's available for May 2013.

What is available right now is irrelevant as availability changes on an hourly basis. What matters is what is available when the poster is issued ATT (you cannot see the schedule until you register, pay $200 AND are issued ATT hence why the poster can't see the schedule yet)

I perfectly understand OP can't see the schedule until she pays $200, that's why I offered to look up the info for her. What may be irrelevant to you and me, may mean a lot to the OP. And yes, I am very well aware availability may change from minute to minute. And when I do find the information for OP, I would include that caveat.

i already got the approval from VtBON to take the exam.

once i register with pearsonvue and after i received the Acknowledgement of Receipt of Registration, is it ok to send it to VtBON after 7months??..because once they send the eligibility to pearsonVUE, pearson will then release my ATT, and their ATT is valid only for 3months. in my case, unfortunately my scheduled leave will be on May 2013, so that's the time also i can take the exam.

Once your ATT is issued it is I believe only valid for 90 days however usually eligibility to sit exam is longer than that. may need to ask the BON how long eligibility to sit exam is for. Some states it is 2 years and others it is 5 years
