There is a PDA forum on this website that has helped me out. You might want to ask questions and read many of the posts there to get help. I am new so I will try to post the link but do not be surprised if I am not successful. :uhoh3:

If the link does not work. Go to the main page, then go to the General Nursing Forums, then go to PDAs and Nursing.

A PDA is worthless without the correct software....pretty much.

So, in that case, make sure you get one that either has plenty of memory/storage size, or you can upgrade the memory/storage size by purchasing a card.

Decide if you want to spend more now in order to have it less obsolete in a few months, or spend less now & have it more obsolete in a few months. (Either way, any computer item becomes obsolete quickly.)

Do you homework on which OS you want as well.....windows, palm, etc. (I don't even know them all.)

Good luck with your purchase! :)

I have a PDA related question as well..

My college does not require a PDA, nor does it say anything about it being optional. Do you think they would allow me to use one in clinical anyway? Does anyone go to a school that denies PDA usage?

I should probably just call the school and ask, but I was curious. :)

I've never heard of a school denying there usage, but some schools do not allow calculators. So, anything is possible!

Like you put, calling the school is your best bet. You will need to know how to find the information w/o your PDA, of course, but many nurses use them. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to.

Good luck to you! :)
