My epocrates subscription is running out and I am wondering about renewing it--does anyone have a favorite PDA program for use at work? I got my iPAQ and epocrates together a year ago and sometimes it seems a bit cumbersome. Any suggestions (including previous threads) would be appreciated.

I use a Palm Centra smartphone and have ePocrates Pro which helps tremendously.

I use Epocrates Essentials Deluxe
Cons:
Dictionary is lame
Don't need ICD-9 codes
We use a set formulary and asking the folks at Epocrates to add some OTC items to the data base as well as hot linking the individual drug components in multiple drug formulations has fallen on death ears...
But when a patient has multiple allergies that eat through your formulary this program gives me multiple options. Also has helped me with at least one hard headed pharmacist...
Actually I have been using Epocrates since it first hit the market...

Can you explain this please? I have the free trial version of epocrates and am not familiar with this feature or how it works.
thanks:)
I don't believe its available on the free trial version...its a part of ePocrates Pro where you have a drug interaction pull-down menu: you list up to 5 meds and the program tells you about possible interactions. Very helpful for pts on multiple meds.

I don't know how the free program works... I highly recommend you "play"
with every part of the program..
With pro you pull up your diagnosis... Look under medications and there is a listing of medications for treatment I "believe" rated most effective on down... Sometimes I balk at what meidcations that are at the top because some things that are being treated the first item listed is way too broad, etc. There is no way the program can know what bugs are in your area so the first line medication offered is not always right.
Fun thing about Epocrates.. My providers know I carry it and often come and ask for options...
