Pay for camp nurses

Published

So I have had an interview with a camp that offered 750/week and 675/week and others ask how much I would want. What is the going rate? and what camps should be avoided?

For your first year I would jump on that. It's not so low when you consider you won't cook or drive unless you want to for the entire camp season. That being said its awful close to camp time so you might be able to add 5-10% just to see if you can get it. Also be sire that camp is paying for any travel or clarical expenses you may have. The worst thing they are going to say is no. Just be sure to read you contract carefully before signing. You should read campnurse1's article on selecting a camp, for guidance on what to look for in selecting a camp. Good luck.

One of the camps I am interested in pays 700/week. So 750 is pretty good.

I am making $1000/week no travel stipend offered. My plane ticket will cost at least $500. I am working 4 weeks only.

I am getting around $780 a week as a new grad and also some retirement benefits. They actually pay me per day, because my weeks vary from 4-6 days. Hope you get the compensation that you want.
