Passing the time....

School starts in less than four months. Is it normal to get anxious and even have second thoughts? I have so much to think and worry about! I just want it to start now so I can get it over with! Has anyone else gone through this or anyone currently???

Of course you will feel anxious. Reading these posts, hearing the experiences of friends and your own fear of the unknown is normal to feel apprehension. I was scared to death. But, once you become acclimated to how things are, you may still feel anxious, because nursing school is overwhelming, but you find ways to cope. If you are dedicated, you will make it.

absolutely normal. i swear i've been going back & forth ever since i rec'd my acceptance letter. should i? shouldn't i? will i be able to do it? what if 'this' happens?, what if 'that' happens? the list goes on....

but i have to admit that even though the anxiety is there, i still really want to succeed & do well in school. school starts on aug. 1, so i have less than four weeks. still waiting to hear from one of my student loans so that makes me crazy. it's kinda like a roller coaster. we're just gonna have to get on & enjoy the ride of our lives!!!!

Is it normal to get anxious and even have second thoughts?
I'm one of the rare persons who never had second thoughts about attending school, and it was due to my personal situation at the time. I had been a factory worker for 3 years, and most people are aware that manufacturing is an unstable career field because you can be laid off at the snap of a finger. Also, it is hard to rebound and find another high-paying job in manufacturing once a layoff occurs, because these types of jobs have been disappearing as our economy changes to one that is knowledge-based.

However, it is very normal to feel anxious and ambivalent about any major decision that will so forcefully impact the lives of you and your family unit. Benefits and drawbacks exist within every single choice we make, and we are subconsciously aware of this when we make monumental decisions regarding what to do with the rest of our lives. I'll repeat that your feelings are normal!
