After waiting a little over 48 hours, sitting through part of hospital orientation, borrowing someone's smartphone 1095688990 times trying to access the PearsonVue website, and asking the HR recruiter if my name was up on the BON yet, I went to the computer lab at work and paid the $8 to check my quick results. *sigh* Biggest sigh of relief ever when I saw "pass" next to my name!
I had 120 questions, at least 10 SATA, and 2 math problems. I had 1 math problem between 50 and 75 and one between 100 and 120 I think. I know they're supposed to be the lower level questions but *shrugs* I passed anyway. I used practice questions from CDs by Saunders, Mosby, Hogan, and ExamCram, as well as the Kaplan QBank and QTrainers. I think the practice questions and getting used to taking longer tests helped.
I definitely panicked a little when I got to 75 because all of my friends had either received 75 or 265 questions and I wasn't sure I could do the long haul. I was only in the testing center for about a hour and a half, but testing quickly is normal for me. I DID use my dry erase board - for the math problems as well as working out rationales for some of the answers and ruling out other options. I also wrote lab values on my board as I thought of them.
I don't feel like I could have done any more studying and I honestly don't know what I would have done differently had I not passed. So far everyone in my class has passed! I'm 2 days into hospital orientation for a 12-hour nights inpatient psychiatry new grad position. I'm so glad the weight has been lifted!
