So every time I get something in the mail from the Virginia BON, I'm convinced they're taking away my RN status. Ha ha ha!! Last week I got something in the mailbox, and it was a letter asking me to register with them for some disaster response thing. Whew, okay, I can do that. Yesterday I get ANOTHER letter ... OMG, WHAT NOW? It's one sheet of paper with my pre-NCLEX mugshot (ha ha, that's what it looks like!) that was sent to the Virginia BON Pearson, showing my PASS. :D It's an awful picture (I look a bit stressed out!), but I almost want to frame it more than my diploma from EC! LOL!!

Oh, and I received my diploma! It's pretty. :) I graduated with "High Honors" (GPA of 3.78). Yay!!! Of course, they also enclosed the application for the RN-BSN. Heh.

Lunah, I know much goes through our minds, but "YOU DID IT GIRLY", they cant take whatcha already have, but they can change it for the upcoming grads. You passed the NCLEX thats in stone YAH, YAH! :) Im apprehensive Ive been sitting hear studying for Health Safety got a 78 on my second practice exam over dumb, dumb mistakes...forgot lab values, some Ego defense mechs, just apprehensive about taking the exam want to try to get an "A" or "B". Nerves, Nerves driving me crazy!:)

Congrats!!!! I know it is a bit stressful these days with EC and boards of nursing making changes to how they accept the degree. I graduated back in 2005 and started the program in 2003 prior to the Cali board decision. I started and am enrolled in their BSN program and have actually taken several courses. I recently decided to withdraw and go with another program before i sink anymore money into the BSN degree with EC...I fear future employers will look upon my degree as being from a school that many state boards are having issues with. That is sad, but it becoming a reality! I am no longer confident i want both ADN and BSN from them because of this--perhaps a BSN from another college will look a little better. This is sad because EC program is good for the right type of students...but the name is getting a little tarnished in my opinion.

I'm seriously looking at Chamberlain's RN-BSN -- I'm in the process of getting transcripts evaluated by them, if University of Maryland/University College would hurry up and send my transcripts! Granted, they have to dig back to 1992 for them, and they are in Germany, but still. :)

I'm annoyed with EC because they can't tell me until I enroll exactly what I'll need, and I don't like that. It was fine for me for the ASN because I didn't have many -- okay, any! -- other options for bridge programs (I'm a paramedic), but that's not fine for me for the BSN. Nope.

I've spend many, many hours scouring the online RN-BSN program, and Chamberlain is looking like the winner at this point. It's more expensive, but I think it'll cost me less in the long run. Plus my employer will pay for much of it.

Good luck, girl...keep that ball rollin' while you're still in the groove. Go ahead and apply, already. :rotfl:

Oh, I will ... this is all part of the application process, the gathering of the transcripts. Nice that Chamberlain does it for me! :) I'll be starting classes in March, if all goes according to plan. I could start in January, but I need January/February to gather any straggling CEs to recertify my National Registry Paramedic stuff. Too many hats! :D

Oh, but one can never have too many hats...or shoes. ;) :chuckle

Thanks for all of your words of encouragement. I will take my boards for LPN on sept. 11th. Shortly after I will start excelsior for my RN. I wasn't totally convinced to go the excelsior route, but thanks to you, I am.
