Yep have one- Love it. Just get Epocrates it's free and came highly recommended from my uncle who is a PA. It has drugs & dosages and if you want to pay money you can get a ton of other stuff-- but I have found the drugs are all I usually look up- the hospitals have computers that you can look anything up on. I have had mine for about a year and a half & I use it for work all the time too-plus you can download pp's or lecture material and study right from your palm.

I actually just got one this weekend, well not a palm but a dell pocket pc. Do some research about what programs can be put on to which types of pda, I found that some aren't compatable with all pda's. All of the students that I know who own one love it and sware by it. Besides all of the text books and educational things you can put on it, I plan on using it to keep my schedule so I don't have to carry a day planner everywhere:yeah:

I have a palm centro. I like it but if I could switch from sprint (which i cant wait to do) I would def. get a PDA that isn't a Palm. My centro tends to freeze sometimes. The operating system is so old and outdated, they need to update it. Overall, I like it, but like I said I kind of wish I didn't get a palm and chose a different PDA.

My program required that we buy a PDA with Pepid RN Student software. Before I started clinical, I could hardly imagine I would use it and thought it was a big waste of money. Was I ever wrong! I always have it in my pocket now, and it is so easy to look up drugs, compatabilities, and if there is a term or procedure that you come across you can quickly refer to it. Also, if you have free minutes during clinical it is great to use to look up your pt.'s condition and anything else you might be curious about. I think they're well worth the money and although Pepid is a little expensive, I think it is worth it to have everything right at your fingertips.

You can also find NCLEX questions to load onto it--then you can study wherever you are :).
I'm starting an LPN program and was thinking about a program from skyscape (I think that's what its called). Will that be too much or useless my first year since I'll be in lpn courses?

I love my Palm T|X! I use Epocrates for the drug guide and from Skyscape I have Tabers, Davis' Drug Guide and a bunch of other things. It's helps so much to have it with me at clinicals. Some hospitals in my area have banned students from having smartphones on the floor because they were making phone calls, but since mine is just a PDA, I'm able to use it without problem.
See I think I want to get the Skyscape Nursing Constellation but I don't know if I want the cheaper one and then add on Tabers, or the expensive one. Actually the cheaper one looks like it has better programs.
I am getting ready to download the free epocrates program. Should I download ALL the free stuff? I mean, I don't think I will need all these things.

I have a Palm TX with the Skyscape Nursing Constellation Plus and I love it. I use it all the time - seriously! I use it at work, during class, during clinical, at home doing homework - all the time. Best investment I've made for NS.
The other thing I've added to my TX is a program called Supermemo. It's a flashcard type of learning system - invaluable for memorizing terms, lab values, whatever.
