OTA vs PTA

Hello,

CAREER SWITCH: I wanted to go into accelerated nursing degree program, but changed my mind. Reason: it will take me approx 2.5 years to come while i could just go into OTA or PTA. I have to complete 6 courses (prerequisites) before going into the actual program - full time. I have a family to take care of and that is why i think OTA or PTA would work - Giving methe flexibility to work while i attend school. I know it will take 2 years to complete, but don't mind taking the route. So,my question is considering the job market today -which is more demanding and the pay is okay to hope for a long term or grow with it.

In addition: A friend mentioned something called direct entry MSN - NP. I have a degree in non -nursing degree and MBA. Please can someone also elaborate this to me too?

Thanks for your input. Bless you

From what I've seen (and this is a generalization), OTA is more creativity-oriented, and PTA is more physical. Personally, I would be more suited for PTA.

Direct entry MS to NP? Even if it exists, DON'T DO IT! Advanced practice nurses should actually be nurses first, in spite

of what all the shortcut programs are pushing these days.
