Any OR travel nurses here? I'm thinking about it but worried about that first step off the ledge. I've been an RN for 11 years. Worked in the OR for 9 years with 8 years of that in the Heart team.
Any ideas?

I have considered it. I think it would have lots of advantages. I have known several travelers & most of them were excellent nurses. Go for it!

I am. I absolutely love it! On my first assignment now and going to extend another 3 months. You definitely have to be adaptable. I went from a level 1 trauma center to a small hospital with a different age population. A lot of things are very different than what I was used to, but you just have to be open-minded and willing to learn. Oh, and a lot of positions I've come across are circulate only, so if you're wanting to scrub be sure to ask their expectations during the interview. The only thing I hate is the charting system here. Meditech...ugh!
We use Meditechright now. Who do you travel with? Do you have to take call?
