OR experience ok to get in?

Will a CRNA program take you without ICU just OR experience?

Featured Replies

Haven't seen any program that went on just OR experience, they all wanted critical care.

OR experience does not count in the majority of programs. I personally have not heard of any that would.

The standard is one year of ICU experience, your OR experience will be a plus somewhere along the line to simply be acustom to the OR environment.

I don't know of any programs that would take you without ICU experience. In the OR, nurses don't get the hands on experience with invasive monitoring, titrating gtts, and ventilators like the programs are looking for.
